Established in 1975, the FAO Global Information and Early Warning System on Food and Agriculture (GIEWS) aims to provide policymakers and policy-analysts accurate and up-to-date information and facts on all aspects of food supply and demand.
The system offers as a consequence systematic bulletins on food crop production and markets at the global level and situation reports on a regional and national levels. GIEWS is a precautionary tool for forthcoming food crises.
