This study explores the potential for Water Demand Management to respond to climate-induced pressures on water resource availability and food growing conditions throughout the Middle East and North Africa region, and in select countries in the region. The nexus of water, food and climate is introduced in this section, and explored through review of the latest regional and national climate projections, and data on water and food availability, in Section 2. The scope for Water Demand Management (WDM) to respond to the pressures is gauged through tests of the relevancy of the WDM interventions to each of the three elements in the nexus, in Section 3. The study concludes with specific recommendations and observations for national water, food and climate policy-makers.
