Welcome to Karia-Net!
If you are somehow included in this message in error, please do not send a message to the group, but rather send an e-mail to KariaFacilitator@gmail.com and we will remove you from the list.
This discussion group is focused on Food Security and brings together knowledge on the type of interactions that can facilitate the delivery of programs and projects in this area. It is a place to exchange technical know- how about the intersection between Agriculture and Food Security and not just academic theory. It emphasizes how we can learn from each other at a distance and develop stronger rural development networks. Some of the exciting topics we have lined up include: Food Policy, Food Production, Nutrition and Marketing. We will be going through these over the next three weeks and prioritizing areas that are of interest to you as a member of this group! If you have another recommended topic related to Food Security, please send it to the same address KariaFacilitator@gmail.com and we do our best to include it.
You can also let us know if one of these topics is of special interest to you.
We are now beginning our questions and answers on the first topic which is food security and the policy environment with three very general questions:
1. What institutions or agencies involved in food security from the Government in your country do you think are the most relevant and interesting in your daily work?
2. What about institutions from Civil Society and/or Non-Government organizations?
3. Which of these do you think have the biggest policy influence?
There is no right answer and so please remember that we are creating an open channel for discussion. You will not be judged on anything. Although this is a public group, all ideas are valid and so we respect the ideas of every individual, no matter what their background. This is part of the ground rules for the group as an inclusive space.
Please reply to our Google Group online chat conversation as soon as you are able.
Thanks for your efforts and for joining the conversation.
Best regards,
Christopher Yordy
